Certified Hypnotherapist  | Achievement Consultant  | Alumni of the Hypnotherapy Center, Oakland, CA, USA

Born and raised in Southern California, Marlene Hudson moved to the beautiful Wine Country of Northern California in late 2006 to follow her passion for singing, a hobby which she enjoys very much – and to start over after a series of life-changing events. Music was her solace; relocation a chance to bring new opportunities to life-long challenges and adversity. No stranger to change, in the latter part of 2013, Marlene was once again faced with change – some intentional, some not – and has chosen to relocate to scenic Southern Nevada to conduct her practice primarily via telephone sessions. Here’s Marlene to tell you about herself and why she’s chosen hypnotherapy healing.

Greetings! I am so happy you’ve found my online space – welcome!

While my education and previous career choices have been in business administration, I’ve long known that my desire – my true calling – is to work with people. I’ve been fortunate over my career life to have held positions that allowed me to do so; but it’s not until a few years ago, 2008 to be exact, that changes started to take place regarding my work and career choices – but never losing sight of the desire to work directly with others.

In late 2003, after many years of struggles, my then-17-year-old daughter left home. Two weeks later, I was diagnosed with cancer – after having been told for 2-1/2 years that I was “fine”. As a single mother, working to raise my daughter on my own, I suddenly found myself facing even heavier burdens – and alone.

I had already explored the use of hypnotherapy with astounding success for habit control (oh, those  yummy jelly donuts and giant Dr. Peppers took their toll on my health) and for memory retention (couldn’t pass a test to save my life – until hypnotherapy helped me succeed). But I found myself at a juncture of not knowing  where my life was going, or if I was even going to have a life after surgery. I sought the help of a hypnotherapist I had worked with in the past to begin what was an amazing journey of healing and enlightenment. Through the use of hypnotherapy, tapping (EFT), and meditation, fears, phobias, struggles, all of which are hard enough to acknowledge, have been addressed; some have been eliminated, while others have become manageable. During the course of these sessions over the last 12 years or so, I started becoming more aware not only of my own self, but of the world around me and how even a chance meeting with a stranger has a ripple effect not only on me but also on everyone with whom I come in contact.

Following a passion for writing, I published a short “pocket guide” for singles – those wonderful, sometimes lonely individuals finding it difficult doing things on their own. for anyone who is single, either by choice or circumstance, who is finding it difficult to integrate into a “couple’s world” and venture out on their own. Titled Table For One – The Art of Being Single – this funny, enlightening writing guides the reader through a series of scenarios to help them see the importance of maintaining an active, social life even if it’s at “a table for one”. The book may be purchased as an e-book on Amazon.com.

Two more books in what I hope will be an ongoing series are in the works – Reservation For One – The Art of Traveling Single; and No Date for New Year’s – The Art of Enjoying the Holidays as a Single. In Reservation For One, I’ll share insights and helpful hints for those traveling alone. No Date for New Year’s will help those who struggle through the holidays and all the events and parties venture out and make the most of being a single person during holidays and special occasions. I am also working on a longer book, a sort of auto-biography titled Angels Beside Me, in which I share the many struggles and hurdles that been a part of my life, starting with the death of my beloved Father when I was only 4-1/2 years old; physical, emotional and sexual abuse; feelings of inadequacy; and how through it all, I have surfaced to what some would seem “unscathed” and strong.

Over the years, I have come to appreciate that spirituality and non-denominational beliefs have no boundaries in what we, as individuals, are capable of accomplishing. Seemingly by chance, I’ve met amazing people who have become wise mentors, friends and confidants. Some are healers, some full of life experience, others still themselves seeking and growing. Together, they have helped me become a stronger, better person.

As a Certified Hypnotherapist and Achievement Consultant, my goal is to help others heal – by providing a nurturing environment in which the heart, mind and spirit can heal old wounds, identify barriers, work through crises, and find success, happiness and abundance in their lives. I look forward to meeting you, and to being a part of your healing journey.

From my heart to yours, I wish you love, happiness, and peace…
